[Subtitle Display]

Use to select whether or not to display subtitles during
playback of DVD.

Use the up/down cursors (», «) to select
language.
¶ Refer to the Language Code List on page 97 and se-
lect the desired language there.
Note
¶ For some languages, only the code number will be dis-
played.

Displays subtitles.
Off
Subtitles will not be displayed. However, some DVDs will
automatically display subtitles regardless of this setting.
Assist Subtitle
Assist subtitles will be displayed. However, such subti-
tles will not be displayed if they are not present on the
DVD.
Note
¶ Assist subtitles are subtitles for those with hearing dif-
ficulties.
Selecting from [Code] (language code numbers)
Press the right cursor button (\) and
input the four-digit [Code] number.

¶ You may directly input the code numbers using the
number pad buttons on the remote control unit (A) or
use the cursor buttons (», «, |, \) to input the code
numbers (B).
(A) Inputting the numbers from the
highest to lowest digit using the
number pad buttons on the remote
control unit.
¶ For language codes, refer to the Language Code List
on page 97.
Example: For French, press the number pad buttons
in the order of [0] [6] [1] [8].
(B) Use cursor button (|, \) to choose
the digits, and use cursor button (», «)
to chose the numbers (0 to 9).
¶ For language codes, refer to the Language Code List
on page 97.
Example: For French, set numbers to [0618].
