Tail Function
As the helicopter is equipped with two counter-rotating rotors, there is no torque around the yaw axis (rotor shaft).
The helicopter does not need a functional tail rotor for lateral stabilization. To allow the model to turn around the yaw
axis (rotor shaft), the two main rotors run at slightly different speeds. Depending on which one of the two main rotors
is faster or slower, the model turns to the left or right (see figure 9).
The tail function is controlled with the right control lever (see figure 1, item 3). If the lever is pushed slightly towards
the left, the tip of the fuselage turns towards the left. If you steer towards the right, the tip of the fuselage turns likewise
towards the right.
f) Practical Flight Advice for the First Start
Even though the model can fly in the narrowest of spaces, for the first test flights we recommend using a free space
of about 3 x 3 m.
The support should be flat (tiles, parquet flooring, or similar) to allow you to determine even before take-off if the model
tends to drift off in a particular direction.
Place yourself exactly behind your helicopter. As long as you can see your model from behind, it will react to the con-
trol commands: right, left, forward, backward exactly as you see it. Whereas, if the cockpit of the model points towards
you, it reacts exactly the opposite way from your steering commands at the transmitter from your view.
Caution, important!
Do not pull the control lever for the pitch function back suddenly when the model helicopter is in the air. The
model would lose height too fast and hit the ground hard.
If the rotors hit any objects and are blocked or if the model falls over when standing, move the pitch lever into the
bottom-most position at once so that the two drive motors are no longer supplied with power.
Never try grabbing the flying helicopter with your hand. There is an increased danger of injury!
In order to avoid harmful deep discharge of the flight battery, stop operating the model at once when the model loses
power or cannot maintain its flight height anymore.
