Installation and operating manual

operation as operating hours.
Note the operating hours in the logbook.

Maintenance tasks and frequencies

The operator may have to implement differing inspection and maintenance intervals depending on the climate conditions at the
operating location.
8.4.1 Annual safety inspection and maintenance
The safety inspection must be carried out annually. This inspection may result in the maintenance and therefore the opening of the
hoist.
The annual safety inspection may only be undertaken by trained and certified maintenance personnel. Depending on the usage
conditions (e.g. operation in an extremely dirty environment, or an extremely corrosive environment), an intermediate inspection may
be necessary.
When using anti-spin wire ropes:
Depending on the application and the environmental conditions (suspended load, dirt on the wire rope, etc.) the hoist's traction sheave
may become prematurely worn. The traction sheave must be changed if it is found to be worn.
250 h / 500 h / 10 years general overhaul
The general overhaul periods are, at the latest (depending upon which occurs first):
250 operating hours for devices with a rope speed of 12 m/min or more,
500 running hours for devices with a rope speed of 9 m/min or less
10 years after manufacture or the last general overhaul date
If a general overhaul has been carried out then the period commences anew.
A general overhaul of the hoist must only be undertaken by Tractel or maintenance personnel trained and certified by Tractel.
Contact Tractel Greifzug GmbH or your supplier with regards to training requests.
8.4.2 Exceptional tests
After a controlled emergency descent from higher than 20 m, the hoist must always be maintained by Tractel or maintenance
personnel trained and certified by Tractel (see § 8.2).
8.4.3 Wire rope
Risk of injury through stabs and cuts!
Broken wires in the wire rope can result in protruding wires! Protruding wires can cut through safety gloves!
Wear suitable leather protective gloves when working with wire ropes.
Never let the wire rope run through your hands.
Cleaning
Brush the dirt off soiled wire ropes when dry if necessary. Re-lubricate as necessary.
Use the brush attachments at the hoist to clean the wire rope in an extremely dirty environment.
