Construction and function

3.1

Magnetic tape design

Max. length: The maximum delivered length of the
magnetic tape depends on the model.
Magnetic layer: The magnetic layer contains a track with
alternating magnetic north and south poles. Some versions
also have a second track (e.g. with reference points) or a
third track.
Carrier film: The carrier film holds and stabilizes the tape.
Imprint: All tapes are imprinted with the production date,
a coding reference, a direction arrow and, depending on
the model, a track structure symbol.

Cover strip design

The cover strip is used to protect the magnetic tape
mechanically.
The cover strip is included with the BML-M0_-I_ _-A3-... /
BML T_ _–_ _ _ _–_3... or can be ordered separately by
the roll (accessory).
