9. Maintenance

9.1 General

Your appliance should be inspected each year by a duly
qualifi ed company. The annual inspection should focus on
the following points:
- Dust accumulation in the appliance.
- Accumulation of dust in the fan and the heating element.
- Quality of the earthing connection.
Keep in mind the following aspects during maintenance:
1. First remove the plug from the socket outlet.
2. Ensure that the electronic devices are not damaged by
static electricity.
3. Before commencing maintenance operations, make sure
that the appliance has cooled down and that the
appliance is voltage-free.
4. Only original parkers may be used since they
provide the appliance with earthing. Carefully
store all the original parkers during dismantling.
If any parkers are left out during installation,
there is no guarantee of proper earthing.
If necessary, the air inlet and the air outlet may be cleaned
with a vacuum cleaner and a soft brush, but before com-
mencing cleaning, ensure that the appliance is voltage-free.
Never touch the fan with hard parts, this may cause
imbalances.
Dust may accumulate on the inside of the front glass frame
in the course of time. You may remove this dust with a glass
cleaner or a wet cloth (see procedure for removing
the glass sheet, chapter 7).
Do not use any abrasive or caustic materials to clean the
appliance. The guarantee does not cover damage to paint,
for example due to objects being placed on or against the
appliance.
A large number of the components will have to be remo-
ved from the fi replace in order to carry out maintenance
properly. This should be done very carefully so as to avoid
damaging the electrical and mechanical components and the
visible parts of the fi replace.
