INSTALLATION AND SERVICE MANUAL

6. Installation

Read the manual carefully to ensure that the appliance
works properly and safely.
Install the equipment in the sequence described in this
Section.
6.1

Regulations

- Always follow the applicable (installation) regulations.
- Duly follow the regulations/instructions contained in this
manual.
6.2

Flame image

- Connect the mains cable to the wall socket outlet.
- Start the appliance with the switch on the top left of
the appliance.
- Check whether the fl ame image is visible.
- Use the remote control to check whether the intensity
of the fl ame image responds to the remote control
(see Section 11 – Remote Control).
6.3

Operating the heating module

There is a thermal safety device fi tted to the heating
elements in order to prevent overheating. This may switch
off the heating if the outlet for warm air is obstructed
(see fi gure 2). Once it has cooled down, the heating
element will switch itself back on. If this safety device
should then re-engage for whatever reason, please contact
your supplier.
After the heating element is switched off the fan will con-
tinue to operate for several seconds in order to cool the
element. In relation to this function it is important that the
heating element is switched off using the remote control
before it is switched off with the main switch. The main
switch may only be switched off once the fan has fi nished
operating. This takes about 30 seconds.
- Switch on the heating element with the remote
control (see Section 11 – Remote Control).
- Check whether the heat is blown from the grill.
- Check whether both the heat positions can be
switched on and off with the remote control.
6.4

Installing the appliance

The appliance may be installed in the following manner:
Decide where you want to install the appliance.
Place the appliance in the designated location.
Level the appliance with a water level.
Ensure that an earthed 10-Amp. wall outlet socket is
within reach and remains accessible after installing the
chimney breast.
Keep in mind the depth of the appliance (270 mm).
Leave the space above, behind, in front of
and between the legs of the appliance free
(see fi gure 3).
Do not cover the appliance and/or do not
pack it in with insulating covers or with
any other material.
Always place the appliance at least 1
metre away from combustible objects or
materials.
Have due regard for the installation height, this depends
on the adjustment of the adjustable feet.
6.5
Mounting the fi xing brackets

in place. These brackets may be installed using the screws
provided.
6.6

Chimney Breast Installation

The appliance is designed to be installed permanently in
a new-build chimney breast. There is also the option to
install a decorative fi replace. Suffi cient room should be
provided around the appliance to ensure the proper supply
of cold air and discharge of heat (see fi gure 2 and 3).
It is recommended that the chimney breast should be
made of non-combustible and heat-resistant material.
Have due regard for the minimum required internal
dimensions of the chimney breast:
- minimum internal height:1000 mm.
