11. Wireless remote control

The appliance is generally supplied with a wireless remote.
The heating elements in the appliance can thereby be
switched on and off, the light intensity (the size of the fl ame
effect) can be adjusted, and the appliance can be placed on
stand-by. The symbols on the remote control have been
explained in fi gure 25.
The remote control is battery-powered. The life of the
batteries is around one year. The remote is an infrared
remote control system, so point it at the appliance to
operate it.
The remote control system will only work if the main
switch of the appliance is set at 1.

12. Delivery

It is necessary to explain the operation of the appliance to
the user. Among other things, you should instruct him/her
on how to use the appliance for the fi rst time, how to ope-
rate the remote, provide him/her with information about
annual maintenance.
The user should be instructed to remove the
plug from the socket outlet immediately in case
of faults/malfunctioning, and to contact the instal-
ler in order to prevent hazardous situations.
Show the user where the plug fi ts in the socket
outlet so that he/she can act immediately in the
situation described above.
