Wanneer het voertuig voor lange tijd niet
wordt gebruikt, zal de accu mindere pres-
taties leveren. Dit gebeurt omdat de accu
zelf natuurlijk ontlaadt en door mogelijke
resterende absorptie van het voertuig, te
wijten aan de componenten met constan-
te voeding. De vermindering van de pres-
taties van de accu is bovendien afhanke-
lijk van de omgevingscondities en van de

reiniging van de polen. Om mogelijke
startproblemen
en/of
schade aan de accu te voorkomen, volgt
men één van de onderstaande modalitei-
ten:
- Start de motor
en houd hem 10-15 minuten op
een toerental dat net iets hoger ligt dan
het minimum toerental. Hierdoor blijven,
naast de accu, alle componenten van de
motor efficiënt.
- Stal het voertuig (zoals in het deel «Het
voertuig blijft inactief» wordt beschreven)
en verwijder de accu. De accu moet wor-
den gereinigd, helemaal worden opgela-
den en op een droge en geventileerde

Battery performance will be poor if the
vehicle is not used for a long time. This is
the result of the natural phenomenon of
battery discharging, and may be due to
residual absorption by vehicle compo-
nents with constant power consumption.
Poor battery performance may also be
due to environmental conditions and the
cleanliness of the poles. In order to avoid
onherstelbare
difficult starts and/or irreversible damage
to the battery, follow any of these steps:
and run it slightly above idle speed for
10-15 minutes. This keeps all the engine
components, as well as the battery, in
good working order.
- Take your vehicle to a garage (as indi-
cated in the «Vehicle not used for exten-
ded periods» section) to have the battery
removed. Have the battery cleaned,
charged fully and stored in a dry, ventila-
