12. Maintenance and Cleaning

The product requires no servicing apart from replacing the rechargeable battery. Servicing or repair must only be car-
ried out by a specialist or specialist workshop. There are no parts that require maintenance by you inside the product.
Therefore, never open it (except for the procedure described in these operating instructions for inserting or replacing
the batteries).
A dry, soft and clean cloth is sufficient for cleaning the product. Do not push the housing too strongly. This will lead to
scratches or a damaged display.
Dust can easily be removed with a long-hair, soft and clean brush and a vacuum cleaner.
The wind sensor and the thermo/hygro sensor can be wiped off with a rag moistened with clean water.
Never use any aggressive cleaning agents, cleaning alcohol or other chemical solutions for cleaning, since
these may damage the casing (discolouration) or even impair function.

13. Range

The transmission range of the radio signals between wind sensor and the basis station or the thermo/hygro sensor
and the basis station is up to 30 m under optimum conditions.
However, the range values refer to the so-called "free field range". (Range in case of direct sight contact
between transmitter and receiver without any interference).
In practical operation, however, there are walls, ceilings etc. between the transmitter and the receiver which
reduce the range correspondingly.
Due to the different influences on radio transmission, no specific range can be guaranteed, unfortunately. Usually,
however, operation in a family home is possible without any problems.
The range may be considerably reduced by:
• Walls, reinforced concrete ceilings, plasterboard walls with metal stand construction
• Trees, stones
• Laminated/coated insulating glass panes
• Proximity to metal & conductive objects (e.g. heater)
• Proximity to the human body
• Other devices on the same frequency (e.g. radio headphones, radio speakers)
• Proximity to electrical motors/devices, transformers, mains adapters, computers, cables/lines
