j) Heat Index, Dew Point and Wind Chill Temperatures
Briefly pushing the "HI/DP/CHILL" (4) button switches the temperature display between the following calculated data:
• "HEAT INDEX" = heat index value
In higher ambient temperatures (> 25 °C) a high humidity will impair thermoregulation of the human body; the
perceived temperature is higher at high humidity.
• "DEW POINT" = dew point temperature
This is the temperature where steam from moist air precipitates, e.g. on objects or walls. The relative humidity at
the dew point is 100%.
• "WIND CHILL" = wind chill temperature
The wind chill temperature is the perceived temperature adjusted by wind speed. At lower temperatures (< 10 °C)
with additional wind, the temperature perceived on the human skin is less than the actual air temperature.
If you do not push any button for a few seconds, the display will return to the "normal" temperature.
k) Display Illumination
Briefly push the "LIGHT" (2) button on the front of the basis station. The display illumination is then switched on; it goes
out automatically after a few seconds to save power.
l) Reset
• Basis Station
Remove the battery compartment lid on the rear of the basis station. There is a small button labelled "RESET"
between the two batteries. If you push this, e.g. with a ballpoint pen, the basis station will be reset. Alternatively, you
can also remove the batteries for a few seconds and insert them again.
Then proceed as described in chapter 8. c).
• Thermo/hygro sensor
Remove the battery compartment lid on the rear of the thermo/hygro sensor (turn out two small screws). Then
briefly push the "RESET" (25) button. Alternatively, you can also remove the batteries for a minute and insert them
again.
Then you need to perform a manual sensor scan on the basis station (see chapter 10. a).
• Wind sensor
Open the wind sensor and remove the batteries for one minute. Then insert the batteries again.
Then you need to perform a manual sensor scan on the basis station (see chapter 10. a).
