PASSIVE AND ACTIVE SUCTION CONNECTION

To reduce the exposure of operators to nitrous oxide, it is necessary to take the exhaled gases outside
the practice.
Connect the hose coming from the patient's mask to the appropriate connection (par. 6.1).
Choose the type of evacuation and proceed as follows:
ACTIVE SUCTION
Connect the pipe (included in the supply)
to the appropriate fitting (par 6.3).
Adjust the aluminium valve with
adjustment ring nut to limit the suction,
open the valve to reduce the suction, close
the valve to increase the suction (fine
adjustment - 1)
Adjust the suction terminal to close and
open the suction (coarse adjustment),
connect this terminal to a vacuum source.
Attention the vacuum must:
- discharge outside the practice
- be suitable for anaesthetic gases
suction
The flow of suctioned gas is visible on the
display (see 5.3 SEDATION MENU).
BY VARYING THE FLOW DELIVERED,
THE SUCTION FLOW MUST BE
ADJUSTED.
Warning:
THE TOTAL DELIVERED FLOW (2)
MUST BE ALIGNED WITH THE
SUCTION FLOW (6).
PASSIVE SUCTION
Connect the tube (included in the supply)
to the appropriate fitting, place the other
end, where the filter is located, outside the
practice in a ventilated area.
