8.2.5 Mounting of the Wireless Movement Sensor

Please note that the detection area is dependent on the mounting height of the
wireless door/window sensor and the orientation of the front lens opening. The
recommended mounting height is 2 metres.
The sensor can be turned some 45° on the mounted holder, this makes the later
orientation of the detection area easier. The wireless movement sensor has a
horizontal detection angle of 110° and a range of up to 10 metres.
• In order to avoid pets triggering the alarm unnecessarily, keep the animals away from the protected
area as much as is possible.
• If a wireless movement sensor is mounted in an external area, be aware that trees moving in the wind
can cause the unnecessary triggering of the alarm. The alarm can also be triggered by direct sunlight.
• If at all possible it is preferable to select an internal mounting location. You thus significantly avoid false
alarms.
Information for external mounting
When mounting in external areas, it is recommendable to reduce
the movement sensitivity of the wireless movement sensor.
To do so, remove the screw on the back of the battery compart-
ment cover. Lift the battery compartment cover and place the free
link-plug (see figure right) into position 2 (position 1 and 2 are
marked on the circuit board with the numbers „1" and „2").
Slide the battery compartment cover back on and reattach the
screw.
Position 1 = High level of movement sensitivity
Position 2 = Low level of movement sensitivity
Mounting
When selecting the position for installing the wireless movement sensor, please note
that it must not be subjected to direct sunlight, vibrations, dust, heat or cold. This
can lead to false alarms, defects or functional impairment.
To ensure optimal movement detection, the wireless movement sensor must be
placed so that the object to be detected does not approach the movement sensor
directly, but passes from left to right or vice versa.
Note above all, prior to mounting in external areas, that animals present a high risk
of causing false alarms.
No devices which produce strong magnetic or electric fields, such as mobile
phones, electric motors, etc. must be in the immediate vicinity.
When drilling or tightening screws, make sure not to accidentally damage any power
supply lines, gas or water pipes, there is a risk of injury or death!
