LIMITS FUNCTION
Limits can be set in DIRECT and a required GROUP memory at any time, i.e. before, during and after a
series of measurements. There is practical use for limits:
Any reading which falls outside the tolerance limits set will be registered by a warning indication:
„H"
if reading is above HI limit
„L "
if reading is below LO limit
Limit values can be set via the menu.
GENERAL INFORMATION ON STATISTICS
The instrument calculates statistics from a maximum of 80 readings per group (GRO1~GRO4 = in total
a maximum of 320 readings).
In addition, readings cannot be stored in DIR mode, but it can calculate statistics as GRO1~GRO4.
When the instrument is switched off or turned to another working mode the DIR values will be lost.
The following statistical values are calculated:
NO
= number of readings taken in working mode
AVG
= average value
Sdev.
= standard deviation
MAX
= maximum reading
MIN
= minimum reading
STATISTICAL TERMS
Average value „ "
= sum of all values measured : number of measurements taken
= ∑ x / n
Standard deviation „S"
The standard deviation shows how spread out the measurements are around the mean value. The
standard deviation increases with increasing spreat out.
Standard deviation S= √S²
Before calcuating the standard deviation the variance „S²" must be determined:
S² = ∑(x - )² / (n - 1)
Note
In case an outlier or erroneous reading has been taken deletion must
take place immediately after the reading has been taken.
STORAGE CAPACITY OVERFLOW
If in GROUP mode storage capacity is exceeded statistics will not be updated, although measurement
can continue. If the memory is full, subsequent readings will omitted from the statistics. Display indica-
tion: "FULL " (in single measuring mode).
