Note
As the calibration system always saves the mean value of the previous calibration this procedure should
be repeated several times. This will increase accuracy of calibration and at the same time accuracy of
following measurements.
Note
Before starting a new zero-point calibration the existing value can be deleted via the menu as follows:
>CALIBRATION > Delete Zero N / F .
The instument always calculates the mean of 5 calibration readings furthest. When full the newest
calibration value will replace the oldest one.
ONE-POINT CALIBRATION
First effect zero-point calibration (see page 24).
Put calibration foil on the uncoated sample (foil approx. equivalent to the estimated coating thickness).
Set the probe on the foil and raise if steady. Adjust required foil thickness with buttons UP and DOWN.
Repeat this step several times. Display indication: „cal 1" .
Press blue button to finish calibration. Press button ZERO to save calibration value; alternatively after
30 sec. the instrument will store calibration value automatically.
Even while a series of measurements is being taken one-point calibration can be carried out as often as
necessary. The old calibration will be overwritten; the zero-calibration remains in memory.
It may be necessary to delete calibration, e.g. after entry of a faulty calibration value: MENU->delete-
>delete group data.
Note
It will delete all data: limit data, one-point and two-point calibration; except for zero-point calibration. This
will reactivate the instrument's basic calibration for use on even surfaces.
Note
The instrument calculates the mean of 5 calibration readings furthest. When full, the newest calibration
value will replace the oldest calibration value.

TWO-POINT CALIBRATION

The instrument should be in single working mode. If necessary switch to this mode via the menu. This
calibration method requires the use of different foils. The thicker one should be 1,5 times as thick as the
thin one. For best results the thickness to be expected should be somewhere between the two calibra-
tion values. The calibration foils may be used in any order.
First effect zero-point calibration (see page 24).
Then effect one-point calibration (see page 25).
Display indication: „cal 1" . When required foil thickness is adjusted with buttons UP and DOWN a bar
will flash next to „cal 1" . Press button ZERO to save calibration values.
Repeat one-point calibration with second foil for second calibration point. As soon as required foil thick-
ness of second foil is adjusted with buttons UP and DOWN display indication will switch to „cal 2" and
two bars will flash next to „cal 2" . (With button ZERO you can switch between calibration 1 and 2).
