Installing The Child Restraint In A Vehicle
Press the child restraint with force against the vehicle seat (a). At the same time, pull the
lap portion of the belt toward the buckle (b) and the shoulder portion of the belt in the
opposite direction (c). By doing this, pressure force will build up into the child restraint,
pressing it against the vehicle seat.
To complete the installation, let the shoulder portion of the belt pass through the belt
guides, strapping it in place (d).
Belt guides are used to enhance the stability during normal use. They are not designed to
replace a locking clip that you need if you have ELR Safety Belts System (page 39- page 60).
The installation is complete as shown in the picture (e).
Verify that the child restraint is secure. A secure child restraint will not move more than
1 inch near the seat belt anchors.
