UAS - What Is It And Where Is It In The Vehicle
UAS stands for "Universal Attachment System"
in other words, is a standard attachment
system. It works by connecting parts of your
child restraint to vehicle anchorage system.
Vehicle UAS hardware:
Lower anchors: these are a pair of metal bars
hidden in the vehicle's seat crease. Most
vehicles since 2003 have the lower anchors for
at least 2 seating positions (almost always for
the driver and passenger side seats. The center
seat almost never has lower anchors).
Location is identified by the symbol:
Check your Vehicle Owner's Manual to find the
UAS anchor locations in your vehicle.
Warning!

not
allow
"borrowing" lower anchors from the outer
seating positions to install a child restraint in
a seating position that does not have its own
lower anchors. Use the vehicle seat belt to
install the restraint.
