NOTICE:
If the shaft bolt rotates with the
motor shaft when loosening the shaft bolt,
place another metal rod with diameter
less than 1/4 in (6.35 mm) into the hole in
the fan to act as stabilizer 2.
5. Remove the conical spring washer,
the plain washer, and the blade set
(Fig. 18b).
6. Leave the fan on the motor shaft.
To replace the blade set
Fig. 18c shows the high-lift bagging blade
set (not included).
NOTICE
: To re-install or replace the
blade set, be sure to replace the parts
in the exact order in which they were
removed.
7. Position the blade set onto the
inner flange of the fan with the lower blade surface marked "THIS SIDE FACING
GRASS" facing toward the outside.
8. Align the plain washer with the motor shaft and assemble it in place.
9. Put the conical spring washer onto the shaft bolt with the convex surface facing
downwards, and mount the shaft bolt into the shaft and finger-tighten the bolt
CLOCKWISE (Fig. 18b).
10. Insert the metal rod (stabilizer 1) as aid as shown in Fig. 18c.
11. Use the 9/16" (14 mm) torque wrench to tighten the shaft bolt CLOCKWISE. The
recommended torque for the blade set bolt is 36-43 ft-lb (50-60 Nm).
NOTICE:
If the shaft bolt rotates with the motor shaft when tightening the bolt, place
another small metal rod to act as stabilizer 2.
