Disposal

The packaging material is recyclable. Dispose of the packaging in an environ-
mentally-friendly manner and make it available to the collection service for re-
cyclable materials.
Dispose of the device in an environmentally-friendly manner. It does not belong
in the household garbage. Dispose of it at a recycling centre for old electrical
and electronic devices. For more information, please contact the administration
in your community.
Storage batteries and batteries must be removed and disposed of separately
before disposing of the device. To protect the environment, batteries and stor-
age batteries may not be disposed of together with normal household waste.
Instead they must be turned in at appropriate collection points. Please also ob-
serve applicable statutory provisions regulating the disposal of batteries.

Removing the storage battery

ATTENTION!
❐ The main unit may only be opened in order to dispose of the storage battery.
❐ Be careful when opening the main unit; it is imperative that short-circuits are prevented.
❐ Do not open the storage battery; there is a risk of a short circuit; irritating vapours or
corrosive liquids may also be emitted.
❐ Do not expose the storage battery to intense sunlight, heat or fi re; there is a risk of
explosion.
This device has an integrated storage battery pack; it must be removed as described
below before disposing of the old device:
1. Loosen the screw on the bottom of the main unit.
2. Take the cover off of the storage battery compartment.
3. Pull the storage battery pack out of the device. A certain amount of physical effort
may be required for this.
4. Open the clip on the connector cable.
5. Dispose of the storage battery in an environmentally-friendly manner (collection
points or vendors).
