15 Weld method
15.1 Electrode
Before switch-on, ensure that neither
the electrode holder nor the elec-
trode is touching the welding table,
the workpiece or another electrically-
conductive object, to ensure that you
do not unintentionally ignite arcing on
switch-on. An unintentionally ignited
arc can damage the electrode holder,
the welding table, the workpiece and
the machine.
Switch on the system
Press the On/Off button 28 for 2 sec. to switch
on the system.
Press button 37 for at least 2 seconds.
9 They can be found in the function process
menu.
Select the Electrode process by using control
knob 19.
Activate the process by pressing control knob
19.
End the menu by pressing Button 37.
Use control knob 19 to set the desired welding
current.
Arc ignition
Briefly touch the workpiece at the point to be
welded using the electrode and lift the elec-
trode a little.
9 The arc burns between the workpiece and the
electrode.
Pulses
Call up the function and process menu (see "16
Function and process menu" on Page 40).
 Activate the "Pulsing" process.
You can now directly call the secondary param-
eters (see "17 Secondary parameters" on Page
41) or end the function and process menu by
pressing Button 37.
Secondary parameters:
Select the "Secondary energy" secondary pa-
rameter.
- 38 -
Set the desired secondary current value by us-
ing control knob 19. The setting value is based
on the main current I
Select the "Pulse frequency" secondary param-
eter.
Set the desired pulse frequency by using con-
trol knob 19.
Select the "Pulse duty cycle" secondary param-
eter.
Set the desired pulse duty cycle by using con-
trol knob 19. The setting value is based on the
main current I
Example: 60% corresponds to a mix of 60%
main current I
 Leave the secondary parameter menu.
‰ The calculated average current value is shown
on Display 39 during the welding process.
15.2 CEL electrode mode
When cellulose rod electrodes are used,

Call up the function and process menu (see "16
Function and process menu" on Page 40).
 Activate the "CEL electrode" process.
‰ The welding properties are only optimised for
CEL electrodes.
‰ All parameters and functions for the CEL elec-
trode process are stored in addition.
Leave the function and process menu.
