1. Handle Release Knob
Fold the handle down toward the machine and screw the
handle back onto the machine (Figure 5).
Throttle Lever and Safety Bail
The throttle lever controls engine speed. With the lever
down, in the disengaged position, the engine runs at
idle. This is also the starting position. When the throttle
lever is squeezed the engine speed increases and the
centrifugal clutch engages and the cutting wheel rotates.
The safety bail controls the engine running. Hold the
safety bail against the handle to deactivate the engine kill
switch so the engine will start. Releasing the bail stops
the engine.

1. Throttle lever

Parking Brake

The parking brake holds the left wheel from turning
to secure the machine and for easy movement of the
machine from side to side when grinding the stump.
