pressed, a recurring ticking will be audible coming from the gas regulator. This is
normal and will not cause any damage if you then release the button.
The remote control works by ultrasound. It is not necessary to direct the handset
towards the unit to operate it.

Extinguishing

•
Turn knob B to the right to position 5, or press the "OFF" button of the handset
until the flame height is at minimum or the main burner goes out.
•
Turn knob A to position 3. The gas supply to the main burner is completely cut
off; the pilot light continues to burn.
•
To turn the unit completely off, turn knob A further to position 1; the pilot light
goes out.
•
If the unit will not be used for an extended period, close the gas shut-off cock in
the gas line.

Maintenance

The painted frame can be cleaned with a moist, soft cloth, when it is nearly cold.
Never clean the unit while it is still hot.
Minor paint damage can be touched up with a can of spray paint. Your dealer can
supply you with the proper spray can.
During the first use after spraying your unit may give off a slight odour. This will
disappear quickly, however.
The glass can be cleaned with a number of glass cleaning products available on the
market. Your installer can also supply you with appropriate products. However,
never use abrasive or corrosive cleaning products.
The installation requires maintenance and inspection by a specialist at least once a
year. This maintenance will include, among other things, the following:
•
Dusting and cleaning of the combustion chamber and the air intake and flue gas
exhaust ducts.
•
Inspection and checking of seals for tightness of the air and flue gas ducts, and
of wall or roof terminal.
•
Dusting and cleaning of the burner. After removal of the logs and ashes and of
the cover plate at the front of the combustion chamber, the burner can simply be
lifted out. Cleaning of the burner is best done with a vacuum cleaner.
•
Dusting of the ceramic logs.
Take care: these logs are very fragile: do not use any hard or abrasive ma-
terials, and do not spray with compressed air!
•
Cleaning and inspection of the main injector.
•
Disassembly and cleaning of the pilot light injector and thermocouple.
•
Inspection of the gas line for leaks.
•
Inspection of the remote control; possible replacement of the batteries.
