Installation
The unit should be installed, connected, commissioned and checked by a qualified
installer, according to the latest applicable national and local codes and regulations
for closed units and according to the installation directions of the manufacturer.
It is best to install the fireplace first. Afterwards the concentric pipe system can be
assembled step-by -step, beginning from the fireplace. Be careful! The actual struc-
tural circumstances may require that (part of) the concentric pipe system be built in
first.
3.1.
Preparation
The total appliance is supplied in 2 boxes. The first contains the main appliance and
its accessories, the other the decorative frame.
Examine the unit for transport damage and/or visible damage immediately upon
receipt and if there is any, notify your supplier. In the meantime do not put it into
operation.
In order to avoid damage to the unit during installation it is recommended that you
first remove the glass door, as well as all loose parts and accessories found inside
the unit.
The glass door is removed by loosening the 4 clips, 2 above and 2 below. Take care
that the glass door is well supported so that the glass does not break.
3.2.
Installing of the unit
The unit must be installed in a recess constructed of non-combustible material. The
dimensions of the recess must be such that the fireplace can be easily placed and
provided with the necessary insulation. The finishing frame that comes with the unit
is used to close off the space between the outside of the unit and the edges of the
recess.
Make sure that the appliance is placed at the correct depth in the recess, in order to
allow the frame to fit perfectly against the wall (see annex 2 : dimensions).
The unit is best placed on a flat surface. The adjustable feet on the bottom of the
unit allow the height of the unit to be adjusted precisely and allow the unit to be
made perfectly level.
3.3.
Installation of the Metaloterm US concentric pipe system
3.3.1. General
The unit shall only be installed using original Metaloterm US parts. These can be
purchased in the desired quantities from your dealer, without any problem. A list of
available parts is enclosed.
The Metaloterm US system permits a number of connection alternatives with this
unit:
•
Through the house wall, at any chosen height, with or without horizontal or
slanting part.
