7.1 Temporary decommissioning

For this type of deactivation, the device remains
installed and is not cut off from the electricity supply.
In the event of temporary decommissioning, the device
must remain completely immersed so that it is pro-
tected from frost and ice. Ensure that the temperature
of the fluid and in the operating space does not fall
below +3 °C.
This ensures that the device is always ready for opera-
tion. For extended downtime, a regular (monthly to
quarterly) 5-minute function test should be carried
out.
Caution!
Only perform function runs under the proper
operating and usage conditions. Never run the
machine dry! Violating this can lead to total dam-
age!
7.2 Decommissioning for maintenance work or stor-
age
The system must be switched off and the device must
be disconnected from the mains by a qualified electri-
cian and secured against being switched on again with-
out authorisation. Units with plugs must be unplugged
(do not pull the cable!). Work on removal, maintenance
and storage can then commence.
Danger due to toxic substances!
Devices that pump liquids hazardous to health
must always be decontaminated before under-
taking any other work! Otherwise there is a risk
of death! Wear the necessary physical protection
equipment!
Beware of burns!
The housing parts can heat up to well above
40 °C. There is a risk of burns! After switching it
off, let the device cool down to ambient tempe-
rature.
7.2.1 Removal
Devices in portable wet well installation can be lifted
out of the pit once they have been disconnected from
the mains and the pressure pipe has been drained. It
may be necessary to dismantle the hose first. It may
also be necessary to use a suitable lifting device here.
Devices in stationary wet well installations with a sus-
pension unit are raised out of the chamber using a chain
or a traction rope with an appropriate lifting device.
This does not have to be emptied especially for this
purpose. Make sure that the power supply cable is not
damaged!
In case of devices in stationary dry well installation, the
pipe system on the pressure and suction sides must be
blocked and emptied if required. The device can then
be dismantled from the pipeline and lifted from the
operating space using a lifting device.
When working in pump chambers, a second per-
son must be present for safety reasons.

7.2.2 Return delivery/storage
For shipping, the parts must be packed in tear-proof
plastic bags of sufficient size in such a manner that
they are tightly sealed and leak-proof. The parts may
only be shipped by forwarding agents who have been
instructed appropriately.
Please also refer to the "Transport and storage"
section!
7.3 Recommissioning
Before recommissioning, the device must be cleaned of
dust and contaminants. Maintenance measures and
work must be carried out subsequently as described in
the "Maintenance and repair" section.
After concluding maintenance, the product can be
installed and connected to the mains power supply by a
qualified electrician. This must be done as described in
the "Installation" section.
The device must be switched on as described in the
"Commissioning" section.
The device may only be switched on again if it is
in proper working order.
