missing, the transport company or the manufacturer
must be notified on the day of delivery since claims
made after this date cannot be recognised. Damage to
parts must be noted on the delivery or freight docu-
mentation.

4.2 Transport

Only the appropriate and approved lifting gear, trans-
portation and hoisting gear may be used. These must
have sufficient load-bearing capacity to ensure that
the device can be transported safely. When using
chains, these must be secured against slipping.
The personnel must be qualified for the tasks and must
follow all applicable national safety regulations during
the work.
The devices are delivered by the manufacturer or the
supplier in suitable packaging. This normally precludes
the possibility of damage occurring during transporta-
tion and storage. The packaging should be stored in a
safe place for reuse if the product is frequently used at
different locations.
Beware of frost!
When using drinking water as a coolant/lubricant,
the device must be transported frost-proof. If
this is not possible, the device must be emptied
and dried out!
4.3 Storage
Newly supplied devices are prepared so that they can
be stored for at least 1 year. The product should be
cleaned thoroughly before it is put into temporary
storage!
The following should be taken into consideration for
storage:
• Place the device on a firm bearing surface and secure it
against slipping and falling over. Wastewater and sub-
mersible sewage pumps are stored vertically.
Danger due to falling over!
Never set the device down if unsecured. There is
a risk of injury if the device falls over!
• Our devices can be stored at temperatures down to
-15 °C. The store room must be dry. We recommend a
frost-protected room for storage with temperature
between 5 °C and 25 °C.
Devices which are filled with drinking water can
be stored in frost-proof rooms up to max. 3 °C for
max. 4 weeks. These are to be drained and dried
out for long storage time.
• The device must not be stored in rooms in which
welding work is carried out, because the resulting gases
or radiation can damage the elastomer components
and coating.
• Suction and pressure connections must be sealed
securely to prevent contamination getting in.

• The power supply cables should be protected against
kinking, damage, and moisture.
Electrical hazard!
Damaged power supply cables can cause fatal
injury! Defective cables must be replaced by a
qualified electrician immediately.
Beware of moisture!
Moisture penetrating the cable will damage both
the cable and the device. For this reason, never
immerse the cable end in the fluid or any other
liquid.
• The device must be protected from direct sunlight,
heat, dust, and frost. Heat or frost can cause serious
damage to propellers, impellers and coatings!
• The impellers or propellers should be checked at regu-
lar intervals. This prevents jamming of the bearings and
it renews the lubrication film on the mechanical seal. In
case of devices with gear versions, twisting prevents
jamming of the gear tooth and the lubrication film on
the gear tooth is renewed (prevents rust films).
Beware of sharp edges!
Sharp edges can form on the impellers, propel-
lers and hydraulic openings. There is a risk of
injury! Wear gloves for protection.
• If the device has been stored for a long period of time,
it should be cleaned of impurities such as dust and oil
residue before commissioning. Check the impellers and
propellers for free movement and the housing coatings
for damages.
Prior to commissioning, the fill levels (oil, motor,
etc.) should be checked and topped up, if neces-
sary. Devices with drinking water filling are to be
filled completely with drinking water prior to
commissioning!
Damaged coatings must be repaired immediately.
Only an intact coating fulfils its intended purpose!
If you comply with these rules, your device can be
stored over a lengthy period. However, note that the
elastomer components and coatings are subject to
natural brittleness. If the product is to be stored for
longer than 6 months, we recommend checking these
parts and replacing them as necessary. Consult the
manufacturer for further details.

4.4 Return delivery

Devices that are returned to the factory must be prop-
erly packaged. This means that impurities have been
removed from the device and that it has been decon-
taminated if used with fluids that are hazardous to
health. During transport, the packaging must protect
the device from damages. If you have any questions,
please contact the manufacturer!
