3.3 Operation in an explosive atmosphere

Products that have been approved for use in explosive
atmosphere, are marked as follows:
• An "Ex" symbol must be attached on the rating plate!
• Specifications of Ex classification and Ex-certification
number are specified on the rating plate.
For use in an explosive atmosphere, observe the
specifications on Ex protection in the subsequent
chapters!
Danger due to non-Ex-rated accessories!
Even the accessories must be approved for use
of ex-certified products in explosive atmos-
phere! Check all accessories before use to verify
that they conform to this directive.
3.3.1 Ex protection according to ATEX
The motors are certified for use in potentially explo-
sive areas in accordance with EC directive
2014/34/EU, which requires electrical devices of
device group II, category 2.
The motors can be used in both zone 1 and zone 2.
These motors may not be used in zone 0!
Non-electrical devices (e.g. hydraulics) also comply
with EC directive 2014/34/EU.
Danger of explosion!
The housing of the hydraulics must be fully
flooded (completely filled with the fluid) during
operation. If the hydraulic housing is not
immersed or there is air in the hydraulics, flying
sparks may cause an explosion, for example due
to static charge! Ensure that dry-running protec-
tion is in place for switching off.
3.3.2 Ex labelling and approval number
Ex-labelling and approval number are on the rating
plate.
3.3.3 Protection class "Pressure-resistant enclosure"
Motors in this protection class are equipped with a
temperature monitoring as temperature limiter.
Temperature monitoring should be connected
such that when the temperature limiter is deacti-
vated, reactivation may only be possible if the
"release button" has been pressed by hand.

3.4 Operating modes

3.4.1 Operating mode S1 (continuous duty)
The pump can operate continuously at the rated load
without exceeding the permissible temperature.
