Cleaning

Danger of burns.
CAUTION
The engine can be very hot shortly
after operation. Contact with the
engine can lead to skin burns.
– Avoid contact with the engine
shortly after the engine is
switched off.
– Allow adequate cooling time.
Danger of injury.
CAUTION
If grinding residue is removed
with compressed air, there is the
risk of injury to the eyes through
metal shavings.
– Wear protective glasses and
clothing for all cleaning
activities.
Clean the machine after each use. In order to remove
grinding dust from the machine, it is usually suffcient to
thoroughly clean the machine with compressed air.
Clean the cooled-down engine with cleaning cloths.
During cleaning observe the following points:
– Never allow water to penetrate the surface or the inside
of the engine.
– Never use combustible or highly flammable detergents.
– Take care to ensure that no remains of paper or cleaning
cloths are left on the engine.

Inspection

Always check the general external condition of the machine
before each use:
1. Check the outside and underside of the engine for
signs of leaks of oil or fuel.
2. Remove excessive dirt or foreign bodies, in particular
around the muffler and the recoil starter of the engine.
3. Look for signs of damage, e.g. cracks and breaks.
4. Check the external condition of the power cable (for
wear, loosened connections, blank wires).
5. Check if all guards and covers are fitted and all nuts
and screws have been tightened.
If the engine is not in perfect condition, do not start the
engine. Instead carry out maintenance or inform the repair
personnel.
