Safety devices and systems

In order to prevent injury to persons, environmental pollu-
tion and damage to property, the following safety devices
are fitted to the machine. The pictures show where the
safety devices are on the machine.

Engine protection frame (optional)
The engine protection frame protects the engine against
damage and protects the operator against unintentional
contact with the engine. The engine can be very hot during
and immediately after operation.
Spark protection with metal belt guard
The spark protection with metal belt guard prevents sparks
from flying out during the grinding process on the rail. The
sparks are directed to the side opposite where the operator
is standing and only fly out near to the ground in order to
minimize the risk of fire or explosion caused by sparks.
Emergency-stop button (optional)
The emergency-stop button is exclusively fitted to the
product variation GP 4000 P as an optional extra. It is in the
form of a mushroom-head push button which when pressed
immediately shuts off the engine.
Grindstone protection
The grindstone protection protects the grindstone.
If the grindstone is damaged during the grinding process,
the grindstone protection prevents the pieces of the grind-
stone being thrown out.

The operator must ensure that while working with the
machine a functioning CO
to the workplace.

If there is an emergency, use the emergency-stop button
or the on / off switch to immediately switch off the machine
(see Chapter 6.1 "Operating and adjustment controls" on
page 21) and leave the danger zone as quickly as possible.
In the event of injury to a person immediately initiate first-
aid measures.
In the event of a fire initiate the necessary firefighting steps.
