Check the air filter before each
start-up in order to avoid dam-
age or engine failure.
Check and clean the air filter as follows:
1. Ensure that the machine is switched off. If necessary,
allow the engine to cool down.
2. Position the machine so that the air filter is in a
horizontal position (see Figure 30 "GP 4000 P – Check
the air filter 1") and secure the machine against falling
over.
3. Unscrew lock nut of the filter cover
4. Pull filter cover upwards to remove it from lock
screw .
Do not clean the filter cover or

filter with petrol or solvent and
do not blow out with compressed
air.
5. Clean filter cover .
6. Pull up and remove filter
7. If filter + is slightly soiled, gently knock the filter
on a solid base to remove the dust. Take care that
foam filter element is not separated from the inte-
grated filter element
8. If filter + is heavily soiled or damaged, replace
with a new filter.
9. Re-assemble the air filter in the reverse order.
