Check and clean air filter as follows:
1.
Ensure that the machine is switched off. If necessary,
allow the engine to cool down.
2.
Position the machine so that the air filter is in a horizon-
tal position (see Figure 31 "GP 4000 D – Checking the
air filter 1") and secure the machine against falling over.

Unscrew lock nut
of filter cover

Pull off filter cover
and then remove filter
Do not clean the air filter with
NOTE
petrol or solvent.
5.
Clean filter cover
and filter housing
Danger of injury!
CAUTION
If dirt is removed using com-
pressed air, there is a risk of
injury to the eyes through metal
fragments and dust.
6.
Blow out the filter housing and foam filter insert of
filter
with compressed air (0.29 to 0.49 MPa) in
order to remove dust and contaminants.
7.
If filter
is heavily contaminated or damaged, replace
with a new filter even if only a single component is
damaged.
8.
Re-assemble the air filter in the reverse order.

Lubrication of the machine
Lubricate the machine at the appropriate grease nipples
every 40 hours with Sylan 3 grease or comparable grease
which corresponds to the standard ASTM 220/250).
