Lubricate the traction sheave external teeth
(model series X 2050 P)
Specification of grease see ' 4.4 Operating fluids' on page 6.
– Apply the grease gun to the lubrication nipple (1) (Fig. 16,
on page XI).
– Lubricate the lubrication nipple with 3–5 pumps (approx. 5 cm³).
– Let the hoist run for approximately two seconds in the UP-
WARD and DOWNWARD directions.
– Lubricate the lubrication nipple with 3–5 pumps (approx. 5 cm³).

15.4 Adjustment

Adjusting the load limiting device
Risk of falling! Danger of being injured by falling objects!
May result in severe injuries or death!
– The load limiting device may only be adjusted by person-
nel authorized by the system manufacturer or Greifzug
Hebezeugbau GmbH.
– Observe the details in this instruction manual.
When delivered, the load limiting device is set up for temporary
personnel lifting equipment in such a way that it deactivates the
hoist, at the latest, when the load reaches 1.25 times the load
bearing capacity.
For stationary personnel lifting equipment the load limiting device
must be set by the system manufacturer/operator to 1.25 times
the actual load of the personnel lifting equipment, see table 1 on
page II.
The minimum value to which the load limiting device can be set
is 10 % below the load bearing capacity of the hoist.
In order to set the load limiting device an overload is lifted. The
overload is:
Overload = Nominal load + 25%
– Only load load lifting equipment with the calculated over-
load.
Model series LA 500 P, XA 300 - 1030 P
See Fig. 19 on page XII.
Note:
Before every inspection screw in the screw plug (1) as other-
wise the pressure on the valve and thus the shut-off value will
be changed.

Increase the lifting force: Turn the setting screw to the
right.

Reduce the lifting force: Turn the setting screw to the left.

– Remove the screw plugs (1).
– Insert a 2.5 mm Allen key into the setting screw (2).
– Tighten the setting screw (2).
– Screw in the screw plugs (1).
The load limiting device must not react when lifting the load.
– Raise until the load lifting equipment hangs freely.
Note:
If the load limiting device reacts:
– Lower the load lifting equipment.
– Remove the screw plugs (1).
– Tighten the setting screw (2).
– Screw in the screw plugs (1).
– Raise until the load lifting equipment hangs freely.
– Remove the screw plugs (1).
– Loosen the setting screw (2) until the load limiting device
reacts.
– Screw in the screw plugs (1).
– Lower the overload to the ground.
– Raise the overload again.
The load limiting device must react. Otherwise repeat the
procedure.
– Secure the screw plugs (1) with red sealing wax.
Model series XA 2050 P
See Fig. 20 on page XII.
– Remove the blanking plugs (1).
– Loosen the lock nut (5) with the socket wrench.
– Loosen the setting screw (3).
The load limiting device must not react when lifting the load.
– Raise until the load lifting equipment hangs freely.
Note:
If the load limiting device reacts:
– Lower the load lifting equipment.
– Loosen the setting screw (3).
– Raise until the load lifting equipment hangs freely.
– Tighten the setting screw (3) until the load limiting device
reacts.
– Tighten the lock nut (5) with the socket wrench.
– Lower the overload to the ground.
– Raise the overload again.
The load limiting device must react. Otherwise repeat the
procedure.
– Replace the blanking plugs (1) and secure with red sealing
wax.
