Operation and Installation Manual
It must be possible to position the operating equipment in such a
way that safe operation is always possible.
The connection to the hoist must be equipped with a shut-off
valve so that the compressed air supply can be shut off and the
hoist stopped in the event of an emergency. The maintenance
unit with the shut-off valve must be easily accessible and
mounted near the hoist or the operator's location, e.g. on the
working platform.
Rope, hoist, independent secondary brake and rigging must not
be soiled by any heavily soiling building materials such as con-
crete, epoxy resin or other adhesive materials. The components
must be protected against being soiled.

Description

4.1

Functional description

The tirak™ is a hoist for the transport of persons or of persons
and materials. The hoist is operated with a pneumatic motor.
The hoist is generally attached directly to the personnel lifting
equipment. The hoist can raise and lower as well as pull and re-
lease in the pulling direction of the rope.
The system is operated by the control lever on the hand valve or
by the control lever on the hoist.
The spring-applied brake closes automatically when the control
lever is released or the compressed air supply fails.
A load limiting device turns off the hoist once the load reaches
1.25 times of the load bearing capacity at the latest.
EN–6
The XA 2050 P hoist with hand valve may not be operated via
the control lever on the hoist. The control valve on the hoist dis-
ables the load limiting device (in the pushing system on the
hoist). Remove the control lever.
The load bearing capacity of the hoist can be multiplied accord-
ing to the block and tackle principle by reeving the rope. See ' 4.9
Increasing the load bearing capacity' on page 8.
Emergency-Off/Emergency-Stop function:
The hoist can be stopped in dangerous situations by releasing
the control lever (middle position) or closing the ball valve on the
maintenance unit.
