MD22 N/ Translation of the original instructions
– the blades are sharp and firmly fastened in place;
– the bolt in the centre of the blade hub is safely tightened (fig. 8, n. 3)
– the oil in the hydraulic axle reaches the bottom edge of the steel strap of the tank (fig. 10);
Fill the fuel tank using a funnel with a very fine filter. Adjust the seat by using the lever (fig. 2, A - B).

PUTTING THE MACHINE INTO SERVICE

STARTING THE ENGINE
– Push the throttle half way in (fig. 3, n. 5)
– If the engine is cold, use the choke (fig. 3, n. 6). Turn the ignition key (fig. 1, n. 1).
– Once the engine has started, turn off the choke and wait a few minutes to allow the engine to warm
up.
IMPORTANT: When travelling with the mower, keep the mower deck at the maximum height setting
(fig. 2, n. 8, pos. 6).
SWITCHING ON THE HEADLIGHT
To switch on the headlight, put the ignition key in the second position (fig. 15, A). IMPORTANT: use
the headlight only when the engine is running to avoid battery discharge.

STARTING WORK

– Choose the cutting height by means of the lever (fig. 2, no.8). accelerate the engine to approx half
throttle and engage the cutter blades via the switch on the dashboard (fig.1, no. 6). Gently operate the
forward lever (fig. 3, n. 2) and start mowing. To stop, move the forward lever back into the stop
position. The forward lever returns back automatically to the stop position when pressing the brake
pedal (fig. 1, n. 4).
– The lever (fig. 3, n. 2) is also used to reverse. When it is moved back, the machine moves
backwards; always operate it gently. When this lever is released, it returns automatically to the neutral
position.

FRONT BRAKE

The front brake (fig. 1, n. 4) must be used only as an emergency brake when driving downhill to avoid
the slipping of the machine. If used together with the differential lock, the machine is much steadier
particularly on slopes. Under normal circumstances just use the forward lever to slow down and
brake. To adjust the cables, use the adjusting screws (fig. 24). The forward lever comes back
automatically into its stop position by operating the brake pedal.

PARKING BRAKE

The parking brake is engaged by moving upwards and then locking the lever which is situated under
the steering wheel (fig. 1, n. 7). To adjust the parking brake, use the adjusting screw (fig. 24). If the
operator moves the forward lever when the parking brake is engaged, a warning buzzer will sound.

DIFFERENTIAL LOCK

Press the differential lock pedal (fig. 1, n. 5) if the drive wheels start to slip. It is also recommended to
use the differential lock when driving downhill and on slopes to ensure ground adherence of both rear
drive wheels. CAUTION: Do not use the differential lock when turning.
HOUR METER
The machine is equipped with an hour meter which has three different functions:
1) It always shows the no. of hours worked, even when the key is not inserted.
2) It displays the no. of hours to the next engine oil change (OIL CHANGE IN... HS). The first oil
change must be carried out after the first 20 working hours than every 100 working hours. The
indicator "OIL CHANGE" flashes automatically when it is necessary to change the oil.
3) It displays the no. of hours to the next lubrication (LUBE IN... HS). Lubrication must be carried out
every 40 working hours. The indicator "LUBE" flashes automatically when lubrication must be carried
out.
