1. Test parameters
Directly press on the area of the tympanogram display to change the ear to be tested (R / L). The upper
part of the tympanometric path is red (R) or blue (L) colour based on the selected ear to be tested.
Press the 226 Hz icon (see adjacent image) to select the frequency at which to run the test.
By default, the device is set to 226 Hz. The available choices are two: 226 or 1000 Hz (High
Frequency Tympanometry).
Two test options are available: one single tympanogram, or three in a sequence. If you
choose the first option, every time you start the test the unit performs one single
tympanogram, whereas if you select the other one three consecutive tympanograms are
performed, and you can afterwards select the one you wish to save in the database.
The generation of the pressure variation rate (expressed in daPa/sec) into the ear canal can
be set on two modes. Select AUTO (see adjacent image) to initially generate the pressure
variation rate at maximum speed available, then reduced when approaching the peak
compliance to improve its definition. Select FAST to generate the pressure variation rate
constantly at maximum speed available of 200 daPa/sec.
Press the +200 -400 icon (see adjacent image) to choose the start and stop pressure range.
Default setting is + 200 / -400 range alternatively, +100/-200 daPa option is available.
Press the START button (see adjacent image) to start the exam.
At the end of the test execution, you can repeat the test or change the ear to be tested to complete
the session.
