4.6 ETF - Patulous Eustachian Tube

The Decay test is used to test patients with patulous eustachian tube. The test can last 10 or 20 sec, is
performed at 0 daPa and with no acoustic stimulation.
In order to perform the test, the patient has to be instructed to breathe deeply through the nose and
without opening the mouth.
In case the patient is actually affected by this pathology, the graph will result as oscillating in relation
to the patient's breathing.
Test execution
Switch on the device, then press the DECAY icon (see adjacent image) on the main page
to enter the ETF test - Patulous Eustachian Tube.
The test can be performed in either IPSI or CONTRA modes. Pressing the chart allows you to select
the test ear.
Because no acoustic stimulus is presented, the ipsi selection is not relevant
Press on this icon to select the duration, 10 or 20 seconds
Press the down arrow until the stimulus level is OFF
Because no acoustic stimulus is presented, the frequency is not relevant
