INSTALLATION
• The motor can be stored at temperatures down
to max. -15 °C. The store room must be dry. We
recommend a frost-protected room for storage
with a temperature between 5 °C and 25 °C.
• The motor must not be stored in rooms in which
welding work is carried out, because the result-
ing gases or radiation can damage the elastomer
components and coating.
• The power supply cables should be protected
against kinking, damage, and moisture.
DANGER due to electrical current!
Damaged power supply cables can cause fatal
injury! Defective cables must be replaced
immediately by a qualified electrician.
CAUTION! Moisture!
Moisture penetrating the cable will damage
both the cable and the motor. For this reason,
never immerse the cable end in the fluid or
any other liquid.
• The motor must be protected from direct sun-
light, heat, dust, and frost.
• If the motor has been stored for a long period of
time, it should be cleaned of impurities such as
dust and oil residue before commissioning.
Note:
Elastomer parts and coatings are subject to nat-
ural brittleness. If the product is to be stored for
longer than 6 months, we recommend checking
these parts and replacing them as necessary.
Consult the manufacturer for further details.
For information on storing assembled units, see
the installation and operating instructions of the
unit/hydraulics.
4.4 Return delivery
Motors that are returned to the factory must be
properly packaged. Properly means that impuri-
ties have been removed from the motor and that
it has been decontaminated if used with fluids
that are hazardous to health.
For shipping, the parts must be packed in tear-
proof plastic bags of sufficient size in such a
manner that they are tightly sealed and leak-
proof. Furthermore, the packaging must protect
the motor from damage during transportation.
If you have any questions, please contact the
manufacturer.
5 Installation
In order to prevent damage to the product or
serious injury during installation, note:
• Assembly and installation of the motor/unit may
only be carried out by qualified persons. The safe-
ty instructions must be followed at all times.
• Before commencing assembly and installation
work, inspect the motor for transport damage.

5.1 General
In the event of pumping through longer pressure
pipes (particularly in the case of longer ascending
pipes), pressure surges can occur.
Pressure surges can result in destruction of the
motor/unit or the system and noise pollution due
to flap knock. Water hammers can be reduced
or prevented by applying suitable measures
(e.g. non-return valves with adjustable closing
duration, electrically actuated shut-off devices,
special routing of pressure pipes).
If you are using a level control device, observe the
minimum water coverage. Avoid air pockets in the
hydraulics housing or pipe system at all costs and
remove them using a suitable ventilation system.
Protect the submersible pump from frost.
5.2 Motor and hydraulics assembly (Fig. 2)

Submersible motor
• After unpacking the pump hydraulics, remove the
cable protection and the suction strainer from the
pump hydraulics.
• Remove thread protection caps, nuts and spring
washers from the motor.
• Position the motor and pump hydraulics horizon-
tally and set level with the motor shaft.
• Turn the motor shaft by hand before assembly to
check that it turns freely.
• Lubricate the internal teeth of the coupling with
acid-free, waterproof grease.
• Remove any thread protection caps, hexagon nuts
and spring washers from the motor bolts.
• Align the cable protection of the hydraulics with
the motor cable outlet and join the pump hydrau-
lics and the motor.
• Place the spring washers and hexagon nuts on the
motor bolts.
• Tighten the nuts crosswise (maximum
torque 20 Nm).
CAUTION! Risk of damage to the product!
There must not be a rigid connection between
the motor and the hydraulics, as otherwise,
the motor and pump hydraulics will be dam-
aged.
• Check the radial play and axial play of the
motor shaft.
• Insert the cable into the cable protection and
mount the cable protection on the hydraulics.
• Mount the suction strainer.
5.3 Installation types
• Vertical stationary installation, immersed
• Horizontal stationary installation, immersed –
only in connection with a cooling jacket!
