3.4 Extra protection

- If the appliance is installed in a room where young
children or invalid persons are left unsupervised,
we recommend that you screen-off the appliance
and keep the remote control in a safe place.

4. Packaging

The equipment may only be transported in the packaging
provided for the same. Transport damage may be caused if
the correct packaging is not used, which may lead to hazar-
dous situations.

5. Unpacking and recycling

On receipt, check to ensure that the packaging is
undamaged. If the packaging is damaged, please contact
your supplier. Never use the appliance in a damaged
condition!
Check the equipment for transport damage. If you fi nd
damage in any form whatsoever, contact your supplier
and do not use the appliance under any circumstances!
Preserve the packaging until the appliance has been
installed and tested for proper working;
The packing should be discarded in the regular manner.

6. Installation

Read the manual carefully to ensure that the appliance
works properly and safely.
Install the equipment in the sequence described in this
Section.
6.1

Regulations

- Always follow the applicable (installation) regulations;
- Duly follow the regulations/instructions contained in this
manual.
6.2

Installing the appliance

The appliance may be installed in the following manner:
Decide where you want to install the appliance;
Place the appliance in the designated location;
Level the appliance with a water level;
Ensure that an earthed 10-Amp. wall outlet socket is
within reach and remains accessible after installing the
chimney breast;
Keep in mind the depth of the appliance (260 mm);
Leave the space above, behind, in front of
and between the legs of the appliance free
(see Fig. B);
Do not cover the appliance and/or do not
pack it in with insulating covers or with
any other material;
Always place the appliance at least 1
metre away from combustible objects or
materials;
Have due regard for the installation height; this depends
on the adjustment of the adjustable feet;

Mounting the fi xing brackets
Two fi xing brackets (see Fig. D) have been provided to fi x
the appliance in place to prevent it from shifting backwards
or tilting forwards after installation during cleaning, etc.
These brackets secure the two rear legs of the appliance
in place. These brackets may be installed using the screws
provided.

Chimney Breast Installation

The appliance is designed for close-fi tting installation in a
freshly installed chimney breast. Suffi cient room should be
provided around the appliance to ensure the proper supply
of cold air and discharge of heat (see Fig. B and C).
It is recommended that the chimney breast should be
made of non-combustible and heat-resistant material;
Have due regard for the minimum required internal
dimensions of the chimney breast:
- minimum internal height:1,200 mm;
- minimum internal breadth: 1,000 mm;
- minimum internal depth: 265 mm (a greater depth is
desirable, but not required).
Take due account of the fi tting dimensions (see Fig. E):
- breadth of the installation opening: 800 mm;
- height of the installation opening: 300 mm;
- the recommended height of the bottom of the
installation opening with respect to the ground fl oor:
550 mm, higher or lower installation heights may adver-
sely affect the fl ame image.
