2. Unit description

The INGECON SUN STORAGE 1Play is a dual input DC (photovoltaic and battery) single-phase inverter capable of
working in off-grid mode or connected to the distribution grid. This equipment can be used in the following types
of installations:
Stand-alone installations
A stand-alone installation is a system disconnected from the distribution grid that provides AC power to a set of
consumers.
UPS (Back-up) installations
A UPS installation is a system connected to the distribution grid that is used as back-up in the event of a power
cut. In this case the installation works as an Off-line type UPS.
Self consumption installations
A self consumption installation is a system connected to the distribution grid that seeks to minimize grid
consumption and increase self-supply.
There are two types, depending on the device responsible for managing the self-consumption installation:
• Self consumption managed by INGECON SUN STORAGE 1Play. The energy flows within the installation
are managed by the inverter. Additionally, the back-up function can be activated in this type of
installation. With this function, the inverter disconnects the installation from the distribution grid in the
event of a power outage and the energy required for consumers is provided from the batteries, operating
in a similar manner to a UPS.
• Self consumption managed by INGECON SUN EMS Board. The energy flows within the installation are
managed by the EMS Board energy manager.
