Mounting the rear mudguard

Drilling the mudguard [Backroad Aluminium only]
1. Mark the spot on the mudguard where the hole is to be drilled. The distance from the lower edge of the
mudguard must be 65 mm.
2. Centre-punch the spot and pre-drill with a small drill first.
3. Drill a hole with a diameter of 5.5 mm in the centre of the mudguard.
4. Deburr the hole on both sides so that there are no sharp edges.
Pre-mounting the mudguard
1. Attach the rear rack (2) to the mudguard (1) and insert the front bolts (3) through the rack and the mudguard.
Screw the nuts (4) on the bolts (3) and tighten them to a torque of 4 Nm.
2. Position the rear holes of the rack over the holes of the mudguard, hold the struts over them and insert the
bolts through the strut, rack and mudguard. Screw the nuts onto the bolts (5) by hand.
3. Put the mounting sleeves (8) on the struts (6) and secure the sleeves by screwing in the two threaded pins (7).
Tighten the threaded pins to a torque of 6 Nm.
