Interface parameters

An introduction to the DRIVE-CLiQ interface
can be found in the document Interfaces for
Magnetic Encoder System BML.

Status information

The sensor head can generate various alarms:
Internal system error
Position error: F3x137
Temperature error (if applicable): F3x405
For alarm type F3x137 the internal error code contains
detailed information and consists of two parts:
Internal error code
Error bytes
Tab. 6-2:
Internal error code
Bits in the internal error code can be interpreted as follows:

Description:
POS_INV: Position data invalid
INCONS: Inconsistency error (absolute track
inconsistent)
NO_TAPE: No magnetic tape detected
DRIVE_IN: The sensor head is in the DRIVE-IN state
(see Operating notes on page 16)
MEAS_ERR: Hardware measurement error (e.g.
internal undervoltage)
TEMP_ERR: Error in external temperature processing
(e.g. wire break or no temperature sensor connected).
This error is generated only for model
BML SGA-AEZ1-LZZZ-TU11-S284, otherwise this bit
is always 0.
PARAM_ERR: Internal parameter error
NOT_RDY: Sensor head is not ready, indicates a
major hardware error
Bits POS_INV, INCONS, NO_TAPE, DRIVE_IN,
MEAS_ERR, PARAM_ERR and NOT_RDY are used for
generating the position errors. Bit TEMP_ERR \is used only
for the temperature error generation (if applicable).
In case of a (singleturn) position error the XG1
bit is set. XG1 indicates that there is a serious
sensor error and the position is no longer valid.
