leak a small current of approximately 10-
15mA through the earth lead.
Therefore every machine must be fitted with
its own system-protecting differential cutoff
switch. Avoid connecting more then one
appliance, whatever their capacity or brand,
downstream of a single differential cutoff
switch.
IMPORTANT: TILT SWITCH
ADJUSTMENT
All extracting washers are equipped with a
device that aborts spinning steps when severe
imbalance poses a threat to the mechanical
parts composing the machine.
Considering the importance of this
component, check it and possibly reset it at
the time of installation and after the tub-
stopping brackets have been removed. It
must also be checked at least once a year.
To access this safety device open the front
lid cover that supports the control card: it is
approximately located at the machine's
topmost point. Do this only after the wall
cutoff switch on the back of the machine has
been turned off and the machine is
disconnected from the power mains.
Adjustment of this switch is reserved to the
authorised and qualified personnel.
This device (cfr. figure 2) consists of a
microswitch (Pos. 5) secured to the machine's
frame by bracket 7, which is driven by a
flexible rod located inside a metal frame
(pos. 2 fitted with rubber ring 3) that moves
integral with the drum of the washer. When
severe vibrations occur, the window moves
the rod and the safety device trips (cfr. also
alarm "E9" and alarm description).
To center the tilt switch rod on the rubber
band, raise or lower bracket 2. To increase
microswitch sensitivity, move support
bracket 7 to the left. Conversely, to decrease
microswitch sensitivity, move it to the right.
Check that the distance between microswitch
5 and bracket 2 is 100 mm at all times
(3,94").
At the end of the control and adjustment,
close the front panel.

5.5 WATER CONNECTION
The washing machine is fitted with a warm
water inlet (approximately 60°C/135°F) and
two cold water inlets - hard and soft - both of 1''.
Determine water hardness according to the
most common units of measurements,
following the table below:
dH
Definition
mmol/dm³
Germany
France
Soft
0-1,25
0-7°
Medium
1,25-2,5

12°-25°
Hard

14°-21°
25°-37°
Very hard
>3,75
>21°
The incoming water pressure must be
comprised between 1.5 and 6 bar (0.15 and
0.6 MPa).
Provide for wall couplings at a distance not
exceeding the length of the pipes supplied.
If a warm water source is not available,
mount a T pipe on the soft cold water coupling
and connect all three inlets to the cold water
pipe. All three inlets must anyway be fed
water. Always interpose the filters, which
are delivered in the drum, between the water
supply pipe and the take-in electrical valves.

When the connection is done make sure that
the pipes are not crushed or blocked.
5.6 STEAM CONNECTION (steam-
heated machines only)
The washing machine is fitted with a 3/4"
steam inlet. The incoming steam pressure
must be between 1,5 and 6 bar (0.15 and 0.6
MPa). The recommended pressure for best
machine performance is between 4 and 6
bar. If doubts should arise, read the rating
plate data. Steam is intended as saturated
and dry.
The water in the tub can be heated either
directly or indirectly. In the latter instance, a
connection for the recovery of condensed water
will have to be provided for (diameter 3/4").
If the machine is subject to ISPESL
inspection, keep all ISPESL documents in
the room where the washer is lodged.
When the connection is done make sure that
the pipes are not crushed or blocked.
5.7 DRAIN CONNECTION
Make certain that the distance between the
machine drain outlet and the floor drain is
not longer than the drain elbow supplied.
Water is drained through a direct-action
motor-driven valve that stays open (by
gravity) when the machine is not powered.
Therefore, the floor drain must always be
below the machine drain outlet. The diameter
of the floor drain must never be smaller than
that of the supplied hose.
Some special versions feature a second drain,
that recycles water from some rinses or
simply speeds up draining time. It is
nonetheless necessary to follow the specific
instructions attached the special version.
Model
Drain flow-rate
Mod. 33/40/55
300 l/min.
The draining pipe must be able to resist a
temperature of 90°C.
Install a trap between the hose supplied and

the drain.
Check that the hose is not crushed or blocked.

5.8 VENT TUBE
8,75°-17,5°
The machine has a vent outlet at the back.
17,5°-26,3°
The vent outlet must be connected to the

same-diameter L-tube delivered in the drum.
The tube needs to be directed upwards and
be fastened with the hose clamp supplied.
