keys: the value will gradually increase or
decrease in cm, and this will affect the setting
displayed on a black background, i.e. the
maximum value to be reached. The same
applies to heating functions: it is possible to
alter the maximum temperature to be reached
using the " UP" and " DOWN" keys.
The remaining operational settings, i.e.
temperature maintenance time or spinning
time behave likewise.
Starting the wash cycle
Make sure that the cold water, warm water
and steam taps are open (the latter applies
only to steam-heated machines).
Turn the automatic overcurrent switch ON
and the master switch at the back of the
machine ON.
Then put soap (foam-damping type) in the
various dispenser compartments according
to cycle selection, i.e.:
Disp 1 and 2: (from left) to be filled with
prewash soap (when scheduled by the
wash cycle selected)
Disp 3 and 4: (from left) for main wash
Disp 5: compartment for other products
to be added during the last rinse
Select a program using the "SELECT" and
" UP" or " DOWN" keys simultaneously.
Load the machine and shut the door. Then
push the "START" key. The machine will
lock the door and will start executing the
steps scheduled in the program.
Alarm and fault signalling
When faults arise (voltage drop,
supertemperature, undesired water level in
the tub) the washing machine notifies the
user by a number of alarms that appear on
the front panel DISPLAY. All alarm details
are dealt with in the "ALARMS" chapter.
End of cycle
CAUTION! Never force the door open.
Open by hand only after it has been
unlocked.
At any rate, before opening the door make
sure that the drum has stopped, the water
has been drained and the temperature inside
the drum is below 40°C. If a long power
outage should occur when a wash program
is in process, it will be possible to open the
door (see the figure below) by poking a
screwdriver into the hole (4) located on the
rubber guard near the door lock and
exercising a slight pressure.
Caution! Before so doing, turn the master
cutoff switch at the back of the machine
off in order to prevent any sudden power-
surge hazard.
How to correct tub water level reading
Under normal conditions, water level reading
needn't be corrected, but when special
installation factors like elevation ask for it, it
is possible to set the zero level value in the
tub.
Perform the following actions with the
machine energised but not yet started:
1) Open the door.
2) Sight-check that the tub is empty.
3) Hold the " UP" and " DOWN" keys
down simultaneously for at least 5
seconds.
4) The
DISPLAY
"CALIBRAZIONE" (calibration)
5) Press the "ENTER" key to confirm the
value read by the card.
6) The BUZZER will give out a beep and
the DISPLAY will resume its normal
functions.
Water level correction has been carried out
properly. Otherwise the machine will keep
the zero value previously stored.
7.2 CYCLE STEPS
All cycles or programs stored in the card
consist in the excution of the steps composing
them. In other words, a cycle or program is
nothing but the sequence in which the steps
(previously stored) are carried out:
In practical terms, steps can be summarised
as follows:
1 Soak
2 Prewash
3 Wash
4 Rinse
5 Spin
6 Distribution
The various programs consist of a well-
defined sequence of steps to which certain
level, temperature, drum movement and
other settings are associated.
The different program steps are always
displayed in big print during cycle execution
along with corresponding symbol.
7.3 CONFIGURATION OF SETTINGS
PROGRAMMING
The programming procedure is organised
in two levels.
The first level is dedicated to the user,
whereas the second is aimed for the expert
19
user, maintenance technician or laundry
manager.
CAUTION!
The second level is protected by a
PASSWORD and is described in the
programming manual.
All the programming that the common user
can access is explained in the cycle
programming instructions and in the
machine parameters section.
Cycle programming
The wash programs or cycles can be
summarised as a sequence of actions that
the appliance carries out from machine the
beginning to the end of laundry treatment.
The various actions are listed in the "STEPS"
menu below.
Foreword: the washing machine is delivered
with series of steps, i.e. actions, stored in
memory, which enable the execution of the
standard cycles.
Using the programmer it is possible to change
the existing programs or create new ones
starting from pre-set steps. In this case the
user does not need to possess specific
knowledge on the wash diagram that best
suits the fabrics to be washed.
In other words, it is possible to enable or
disable a certain step in a standard program
or either choose existing steps as appropriate
will
read
and add them one by one. Steps will be
carried out in the order in which they were
put in.
The user can thus customise programs
according to his/her own sequence of steps.
If this should not be sufficient to suit the
specific requirements, it will be necessary to
access the "steps menu" and create
customised steps, which can then be included
in a program, either existing or new.
The "CYCLES" menu is accessed as follows:
Open the washer door: all programming
actions must be performed with the door
open. The programming environment
cannot be accessed when the door is closed.
Hold down the "
"CYCLES" reading appears. Confirm using
"ENTER". The display will read the first
among the 20 available CYCLES OR
PROGRAMS. Use the "UP" and "DOWN"
keys to scroll the complete list of cycles,
which are associated words denoting their
name, like "WHITES" or type like
"STRONG". Free, meaning empty cycles
are
simply
PROGRAMMED". Once the program to be
altered has been selected, press "ENTER".
The display will then read the following
items:
