7.3.1 ALARMS OF THE INVERTER AND MOTOR
For sizes 512 and 514 the inverter is equipped with a LED (see Encl. 5), which in case of
alarms, blinks in different time intervals depending on the type of alarm detected. The Alarm
output is open collector type, open in case of alarm (V

OVERHEATING ALARM

The PCB inside the motor is equipped with a temperature sensor measuring the tempera-
ture in the motor itself. If the temperature reaches 90°C, the motor stops immediately.
At the same time the ALARM is activated. If the alarm persists for more than one minute,
the EURAPO controllers (OMNIBUS or EDCR/EDCL) will visualize it.
ALARM FOR DEADLOCK OR MECHANICAL BLOCK
If there is an anomalous mechanical load, the required torque could be over the limit. It
could happen that:
- fan motor runs at a lower speed than the set one;
- fan motor stops.
In the first case, no alarm is visualized, because the motor can indefinitely run also in pres-
ence of an overload situation without overheating.
If the rotor stops, before signalizing the alarm, the motor tries to restart by the following
procedure:
1.
First attempt to start every 0,5 sec for 20 sec if the stop is permanent. Wait for 30
seconds.
2.
Second attempt to start every 0,5 sec for 10 sec if the stop is permanent. Wait for 30
seconds.
3.
Third attempt to start every 0,5 sec for 10 sec if the stop is permanent.
If the motor can restart before the third sequence of attempts, no alarm is signalized. If the
mechanical block is still present, the alarm is activated. If the alarm persists for more than
one minute, the EURAPO controllers (OMNIBUS or EDCR/EDCL) will visualize it.
