7. OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE

7.1 OPERATIONAL LIMITS

This unit is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible

for their safety.
•
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the unit.
•
For installations without a thermostat or room temperature limiting device, it is prohibited to
4
use the fancoil in small rooms occupied by people unable to leave the room by themselves,
unless they are not under constant surveillance.
Since your EST fancoil is equipped with a water-fed heat exchanger, be sure that ambient
5
temperature does not fall below 0 °C, which could cause the formation of ice in the ex-
changer pipes with consequent risks of frost damage.
If ambient temperature may fall below 0 °C, it is recommended to drain the coil when the

unit is not being used. To perform this operation, open the water drain valve located next
to the water connections (s. Encl. 4, Fig. 3).

During operation (as well as during installation), make sure that the air intake
and the air outlets are not blocked in any way.

7.2 ORDINARY START-UP AND MAINTENANCE

After connecting the unit to the pipe system and after filling the coil, bleed any residual air
in the system by opening the air bleed valves located near the external water connections

at the top of the unit (see Enclosure 4, fig. 3). Before starting the system, check the proper
opening of the valves and the absence of water leaks from the pipes. Verify that the con-
densate is duly evacuated by spilling some water into the pan (see Encl. 1/A, 1/B and point
+
8) and the correct running of the regulation and control devices.
The user has to make sure that the EST fancoil operates by respecting the
use limits and each operation for installation and/or maintenance must be
executed by qualified personnel only.
Before servicing the filter or the electrical system and, in any case, before
removing the protection structures, make sure that the unit has been di-
sconnected from the power mains.
