11. SETUP AND MOUNTING

After taking into operation the system components as described in chapters 9 and
10, you may now place or mount the basis station and outdoor sensor at a suitable
place.
When drilling or tightening screws, ensure that no wires or lines are damaged!
a) Basis Station
The basis station can be set up in a suitable position using the folding base (10). It
must be horizontal, sufficiently large, stable and smooth, and also be outside of the
reach of children.
For wall mounting, there is a matching opening (6) at the back of the basis station.
The site of set-up or mounting should be selected so that the basis station is
not close to heaters, etc. Direct sun irradiation should be avoided as well
(the basis station heats up; therefore, the temperature measured is no longer
the room temperature).
Avoid positions where there is a draft (close to windows or doors).
b) Outdoor Sensor
Attach it in the protected outdoor area in a place that is shady all day. Otherwise,
there will be measuring deviations due to sun irradiation.
The same applies if rain or snow gets on the outdoor sensor.
To read the outdoor sensor display directly, the place of mounting must be chosen
accordingly (e.g. next to a window).
Install the outdoor sensor so that it is vertical/upright and the LC display points up.
If desired, the included external temperature sensor can be used.
Pull the rubber plug from the socket (19) on the side of the outdoor sensor
and plug in the external temperature sensor.
When the temperature sensor cable is to be placed, e.g. through a window,
ensure that the cable is not damaged by sharp edges!
