b) Basis Station Commissioning
Open the battery compartment on the back of the basis station.
Insert two AA/mignon batteries into the battery compartment of the basis station
with correct polarity (observe plus/+ and minus/-). The respective illustration is
located in the battery compartment.
After insertion of the batteries, all available display elements will appear for a
few seconds.
Close the battery compartment.
If nothing is displayed, check that you have inserted the batteries correctly and
that the batteries are charged.
For example, use a paper clip to push the recessed "RESET" button (7) on the
back of the basis station.
At the top left of the display, the symbol for weather forecast flashes. Set the
current weather with the buttons "+" (2) or "-" (4).
After about 20 seconds, dashes will flash in the area of the outdoor temperature
display at the top right of the display. The basis station now looks for available
outdoor sensors.
The search mode is now active for about 2 minutes. During this time, no
other settings can be made; the basis station will not react to buttons!
If the basis station does not find any sensors within the 2 minutes, the sensor
search can be started again later; see chapter 14. g).
Then the basis station starts searching for the DCF signal. The radio reception
symbol (N) flashes at the bottom left of the display.
Observe the next chapter on DCF reception.
