Preparing the Dräger FPS 7000 RP for use
● Install mask spectacles if necessary
● If fitted, remove protective film from visor.
● Soak the wiper with anti-fog agent "klar pilot" comfort. Apply the
anti-fog agent on the inside of the visor.
Do not operate wiper in dry condition.
If the Dräger FPS 7000 RP is equipped with a drinking valve, make
sure that the protective cap is located on the drinking valve. Alterna-
tively, the drinking tube can already be connected to the drinking valve.
NOTICE
If the drinking valve is not used at all during operation, the mouth-
piece should be removed in order to increase the wearing comfort
for the user.
● Loosen the head harness as far as possible.
● Lay the carrying strap around the neck and fasten the Dräger
FPS 7000 RP in the standby position using the carrying strap
(Figure B on Page 3).

Donning the Dräger FPS 7000 RP
● Loosen the Dräger FPS 7000 RP from the standby position.
● Pull the head harness apart, then put your chin into chin cup of the
facepiece body (Figure C on Page 3).
● Pull the head harness over your head and draw backwards.
● Adjust the facepiece.
● Pull the straps of the head harness until evenly tightened; first the
neck straps, then the temple straps, finally the harness connecting
piece (Figure D on Page 3).
● Don the helmet and make sure that it fits correctly.
● Don the closed-circuit breathing apparatus and connect the
Dräger FPS 7000 RP to the closed-circuit breathing apparatus
Lock the plug-in coupling into the connection piece.

Checking tight fit

● Press both breathing hoses of the closed-circuit breathing
apparatus tightly together and inhale until negative pressure is
generated in the facepiece.
● Hold your breath for a moment.
If the negative pressure is not maintained, pull the head harness
tighter.
● Repeat the test twice.
Make sure that the Dräger FPS 7000 RP is airtight before reporting
to duty!
If the Dräger FPS 7000 RP leaks, there is danger of asphyxiation!
