Leak tests

Perform the leak test with a suitable test unit (e.g. from the Testor or
Quaestor series).
NOTICE
When testing size L or S facepieces, apply the mask particularly
carefully to size M test heads, since the face seal sometimes does
not seal optimally. Moistening the face seal facilitates exact donning,
since the mask can slide onto the test head more easily.
(1) Checking leak tightness
 Moisten the face seal with water.
 Mount the Dräger FPS 7000 RP on the test head. If necessary,
use a mask holder for the mask/helmet combination.
 Make sure that the face seal fits tightly onto all parts of the test
head. Inflate the test head, if necessary.
 Seal the connector with the adapter and produce a negative
pressure of 10 mbar.
The Dräger FPS 7000 RP is considered leak-tight if the pressure drop
is less than 1 mbar/min. If the Dräger FPS 7000 RP leaks, continue
with (2).
(2) Leak test under water
 Dismount the communication system, if necessary.
 Immerse the test head including the Dräger FPS 7000 RP in
water.
 Produce an overpressure of approx. 10 mbar.
 Slowly turn the test head under the water surface. Emerging air
bubbles indicate leaks.
 Take the test head with the Dräger FPS 7000 RP out of the water,
repair the Dräger FPS 7000 RP, replace leaking components.
 Repeat the leak test (1).
After testing
 Press the button and pull the adapter from the connector.
 Remove the Dräger FPS 7000 RP from the test head and dry, if
necessary.
