Cleaning and disinfecting the drinking valve
Prepare a cleaning solution: Completely dissolve 1 cleaning tablet
R 57 991 in 33.8 US fl.oz. (1 liter) of drinking water and fill it into
the drinking reservoir.
Remove the mouthpiece and replace with the drain hose.
Clean the mouthpiece in the cleaning solution. Rinse with running
drinking water and dry with oil-free compressed air (10 - 20 psi/
0.6 - 1.2 bar).
Connect the drinking reservoir to the outside of the drinking valve
with a hose.
Squeeze the cleaning solution from the reservoir through the
drinking valve until a small amount of the solution emerges from
the drain hose.
Close off the drain hose with a hose clip.
Allow the cleaning solution to act for 3 minutes.
Open the hose clip and squeeze roughly half of the cleaning
solution out of the reservoir and through the drinking valve.
Close the hose clip again and let the cleaning solution act for
3 minutes again.
Open the hose clip and squeeze the remaining cleaning solution
through the drinking valve.
Fill the drinking reservoir with clear drinking water.
Squeeze the water out of the reservoir and through the drinking
valve.
Disconnect the drinking reservoir from the hose.
Using a compressed air gun, blow oil-free compressed air (10 -
20 psi/0.6 - 1.2 bar) into the hose until the drinking valve is dry.
Dismantle the hose and the drain hose.
Fit the mouthpiece onto the connection inside the facepiece and
make sure that it is properly fixed.

Leak tests

Carry out the leak test with a suitable test device (e. g. of the Testor
or Quaestor series)
(1) Checking leak tightness
Moisten the face seal with water.
Mount the Dräger FPS 7000 RP on the test head.
Make sure that the face seal fits tightly onto all parts of the test
head. Inflate the test head if necessary.
Adjust the connection piece with adapter tightly and produce a
negative pressure of 10 cm H
If the pressure drop is less than 1 cm H
Dräger FPS 7000 RP is considered leak-tight. If the Dräger
FPS 7000 RP leaks, continue with step (2).
(2) Leak test under water
If fitted, remove the communication system.
Immerse the test head including the Dräger FPS 7000 RP in the
water.
Produce a positive pressure of approx. 10 cm H
Slowly turn the test head under the water surface. Emerging
bubbles indicate leaks.
Take the test head with the Dräger FPS 7000 RP out of the water,
repair the Dräger FPS 7000 RP or replace leaking components.
Repeat the leak test (1).
After testing
Press the button and pull the adapter from the connection piece.
Remove the Dräger FPS 7000 RP from the test head and dry if
necessary.
