5.1 Filter use

Please read chapter 4.1 Filter (page 28) on filter use.
5.2 Changing filter
The effectiveness of the filter is exhausted after about 50 l of water. FILTER CHANGE
appears in the display alternating with the normal operating message and the servi-
ce button (7) blinks.
TIP: Press the service button only when you want to change the filter.

You can continue to brew coffee or draw hot water and steam. However, we
recommend that you change the filter immediately.
• Empty the water tank (17) and change the filter.
• Press the service button (7). The display shows FILTER CHANGE / TURN valve.
• Hold a receptacle under the steam-hot water jet (12) and turn the steam/hot water
dial (11) to the right. The system will be rinsed.
• Wait until no more water comes out of the jet and then turned the dial (11) back to
the left.
• The system is ready for operation and the normal message for brewing coffee
appears on the display.
Rinsing filter by hand

You must change the filter after two months of the latest even when your coffee
machine is used just a little. You will not see a message in the display, and you
must rinse the new filter by hand.

You can set the date for change in the filter using the special indicator on top of
the filter.
• Empty the water tank (17) and change the filter.
• Fill the tank with freshwater and put it back into the coffee machine.
• Press the programming button P in order to start program mode.
• Press the > button until the display shows FILTER.
• Press the ok button. The display shows manual rinsing.
• Confirm with the ok button.
• The display shows FILTER CHANGE / TURN valve alternatively.
• Hold a receptacle under the steam-hot water jet (12) and turn the steam/hot water
dial (11) to the right. The system will be rinsed.
• Wait until no more water comes out of the jet and then turned the dial (11) back to
the left.
• The system is ready for operation and the normal message for brewing coffee
appears on the display.
