1.
Remove the fuel filler cap (4).
2.
Fill the fuel tank with a maximum of 1 litre of petrol.
Use a funnel* for this purpose.
3.
Close the fuel tank again with the fuel filler cap (4).
10.3 Adjusting the handlebars (12) (Fig. 12)
1.
You can adjust the handlebar (12) to three different
heights by pulling the height adjustment handle
(11).
Attention: Remove the blade guard from the cutter bar
before starting the product.
11. Commissioning

11.1 Starting the engine (5) (Fig. 1)
m DANGER!
Danger of poisoning!
Only use the product outdoors and never in closed or
poorly ventilated rooms.
Health hazard!
Inhalation of fuel / lubricating oil vapours and exhaust
gases can cause serious damage to health, uncon-
sciousness and in extreme cases death.

Do not breathe fuel / lubricating oil vapours and
exhaust gases.
-
Operate the product outdoors only.
Remain attentive at all times when working, and
keep third parties at a safe distance from your
work area.
Check before operation
• Check all sides of the engine (5) for oil or fuel leaks.
• Check the engine oil level.
• Check the fuel level – the fuel tank should be at least
half-full.
• Check the condition of the air filter.
• Check the condition of the fuel lines.
• Make sure that the spark plug connector is attached
to the spark plug.
• Look for signs of damage.
• Check that all protective covers are in place and all
screws, nuts and bolts are tightened.
• Before switching on, make sure that the product
does not touch any objects.
11.1.1
When the engine is cold
1.
Check the fuel and engine oil level before every
start. Make sure that the spark plug connector is
connected to the spark plug (17).

Attention! Never allow the pull starter (16) to whip
back. This can result in damage.
3.
Set the throttle lever (3) to the "Choke" position.
4.
Stand behind the product. Now pull the pull starter
(16) and the engine should start. If the engine does
not start, repeat the process. Note: Do not lift the
sickle bar mower when starting!
5.
Set the desired speed after starting the engine (af-
ter approx. 15-30 seconds using the throttle lever
(3).
6.
If the engine does not start even after several at-
tempts, read the "Troubleshooting" chapter.
11.1.2 When the engine is warm
1.
Set the throttle lever (3) to the centre position.
2.
Now pull the pull starter (16) quickly. The product
should start after a maximum of two moves. If the
product has still not started, repeat the procedure
described under "Starting the engine when cold".
3.
Let the engine (5) warm up for several seconds.
4.
Use the throttle to set the required speed (3).
Note:
If the engine is being started for the first time, several
tries are required to start until the fuel has been deliv-
ered from the tank to the engine.
Attention: The engine speed can be adjusted while
driving. Push the throttle (3) forwards or backwards to
adjust the engine speed. It is recommended to leave
the throttle in the centre position to reduce vibrations.
Note:
Due to the design of the single-sided moving blade, the
vibrations can be very strong.
Note:
Do not use the product in places such as steep slopes,
embankments or ditches where it may tip over or slip.
On slopes, the cutting path should be made perpendic-
ular to the slope. It is possible to prevent the sickle bar
mower from slipping by lifting it upwards at an angle.
